How the daily word search works
Every day at midnight, your local time, a new grid appears on the daily word search page. Everyone in the world gets the same puzzle that day, so you can compare times with friends and family, or simply enjoy the theme of the day.
- 10 words on one theme, listed under the grid.
- Drag across a word with your finger or the mouse, from its first letter to its last. Found words stay highlighted.
- Words read forwards: left to right, top to bottom, or diagonally to the right. You never have to read backwards.
- Your streak counts the days in a row you have solved a daily puzzle, and there are other daily puzzles to try, such as a daily sudoku.
Between daily puzzles, the regular Word Search game deals a fresh grid whenever you like.
The 6 printable word searches
Each printable page has a 13 by 13 grid of big, bold capital letters and a word list with check boxes, so you can tick off each word as you find it.

| 2 | In the Garden | tulip, compost, tomato, robin |
| 3 | Kitchen | kettle, teapot, whisk, muffin |
| 4 | Travel | passport, luggage, cruise, museum |
| 5 | Music | violin, melody, concert, waltz |
| 6 | Birds | sparrow, pelican, heron, falcon |
To print: download the PDF, choose Print and pick "Fit to page" so it works on both US Letter and A4. Pages 7 to 9 hold the answers, two themes per page.
Tips to find words faster
- Look for the unusual letter. In SQUASH, hunt for the Q; in WALTZ, the Z. Rare letters appear only a few times in the grid, so you have fewer places to check.
- Check only three directions. On these pages a word always goes right, down, or diagonally down to the right from its first letter.
- Start with the long words. PASSPORT and ORCHARD cross a big part of the grid and are easier to spot than MAP or OWL.
- Use a ruler or a piece of paper under each row as you scan. It keeps your place and makes the letters easier to read.
- Letters can be shared. Two words may cross through the same letter, so do not skip letters you have already circled.
We tested these ideas on 3,000 grids in our word search tips guide, with numbers and a short video.
Paper or screen?
Both have their place. Paper is restful, needs no charging and is easy to share around a table. The online version gives you a new puzzle every day, keeps your streak and lets you zoom the letters as large as you like (Ctrl and + on a computer, or pinch on a tablet). Many players print a page for the train or the waiting room and play the daily grid at home.
